The Art of balloon magic
Balloons are indicative of a happy event. From a Childrens party to a sumptious event- they indicate the universal language of happiness.
Try giving a blown up balloon to anyone and see if they can stop themselves from smiling.
The Origin of balloon magic can be traced back to the early twentieth century. Balloon modelling itself became an art form in the 1900’s. However, prior to that balloons were made from animal intestines, with the first rubber balloon made in 1847. Vulcanised rubber toy balloons after that, to todays rubber balloons.

Balloon magic itself has many more uses than purely blowing up models for kids parties. Some balloon magic can be absolutely astounding in the correct hands.

Creepy Touch by Alessandro Criscione
The magician asks to the spectator to examine the magician’s hands, and then to examine a normal balloon. He asks the spectator to blow up the balloon and to hold it firmly between their fingers. The magician slowly approaches, with his finger pointing at the balloon. With great surprise to the spectator, the balloon suddenly explodes.

– Balloon Detector for comedy and pretend “bad child”: The magician waves a plastic stick having a balloon on top, in trying to determine who is a “bad child.” The child who agrees to pretend they are the “bad child” is stunned when the balloon explodes as the magician approaches him or her. BALLOON SWORD SWALLOWING – Blow up a standard 2″ x 60″ (260Q) balloon and then proceed to “sword swallow” the entire balloon! Open your mouth to show your mouth is completely empty! This one is GREAT for kiddie birthday parties or street magic. Completely safe and hilarious!

BALLOON BURST
This is the effect that everyone is talking about. The perfect routine that gets attention from everyone in the room. Imagine asking the spectator to choose ANY balloon, which can then be examined. The balloon is blown up and held by the spectator. The magician now asks that they check hsi hands don’t have sharp objects or chemicals concealed anywhere. This is confirmed. The magician now moves his hands slowly towards the balloon and without touching it, the balloon bursts in the spectators hands! This is a brilliant idea that uses a gimmick already in most magicians’ arsenals. Best of all it re-sets almost instantly! Worth the price of the video alone and something that you will use all the time.

Needle through balloon

From the DVD Klose-Up And Unpublished by Kenton Knepper comes an amazing routine whether you show a long balloon used for making balloon animals. You borrow a coin, have it marked, and cause the coin to penetrate inside the balloon. It looks absolutely amazing.

Another super visual penetration from the twisted brain of Nefesch.
This time the spectator selects one of some balloons, he signs the balloon and you visually push your cell phone through his signed balloon.

Thought of Card in Balloon by Luca Volpe
You proceed to a complete stranger and hand them a balloon, ask them their name and also to name any card they want. They do so and you ask them to give the balloon a shake.
They will hear something inside. You burst the balloon and inside there is only one card, which of course matches the freely selected card, with the spectator’s name written on it.
